A large number of halogenated compounds is produced by chemical synthesis. Some of these compounds are very toxic and cause enormous problems to human . Halogenated organic compounds are the product from the industries and agriculture sectors and extensively used in many ways (Gribble, ; Song et al., ). Due to massive nature and continuous entry into the environment, the probability for the accumulation of these compounds in the habitats indicates a global : Raghunath Satpathy. However, some alternative flame retardants have been found to be persistent, bioaccumulative, and toxic pollutants (Gramatica et al., ), and there is a great deal of concern about the environmental and human health problems that may be caused by these chemicals (He et al., , Su et al., , Kim et al., , Müller et al., ).Cited by:

A purge and trap procedure was used with gas chromatography−mass spectrometry determination to analyze 70 foods for volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The results from analyses over a 5 year period (−) are reported. VOCs were found in at least one sample of all foods tested, although no single compound was found in each of the by: ecotoxicity, degradation and distribution in environmental media as well as hazardous reactions with water and is detailed in UBA (). The objective of this study was to quantify organic chlorinated pesticides (OCPs), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in blood plasma collected from healthy residents in Hong Kong to assess the levels of these pollutants in the general population during the period of March to Cited by:
